A captured commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Okorienta (also known as Gentle De Yahoo), has made serious allegations against Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.
In a video recording from April 15th, which has recently surfaced online following the commander's arrest by security forces, Okorienta claims Governor Uzodinma met with him and several other high-ranking IPOB commanders.
The commander alleges that during the meeting, the governor attempted to recruit the group to "work" for him. Okorienta states that these proposed operations included acts of kidnapping and the assassination of political opponents. As an incentive, the commander further claims that Governor Uzodinma promised them control of an oil well.
Governor Uzodinma has yet to publicly respond to these allegations.
