Russian military units are reportedly facing severe communication disruptions and incidents of friendly fire following the shutdown of unauthorized Starlink satellite internet terminals. Ukrainian officials and pro-Russian military bloggers say the loss of connectivity has led to widespread confusion, undermining command and control on the battlefield.
The Crimean Tatar partisan group Atesh alleged on Telegram that the communications blackout has resulted in fatal friendly-fire incidents. According to the group, one such episode occurred along the Zaporizhzhia axis, where a total collapse in communications caused Russian units to mistakenly engage one another, leading to the destruction of a 12-member assault team.
