The Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, received the sentencing and sentencing of one Li Lii Lei, a Chinese national, 24 months in prison for immersing Nigerian money. He was convicted by Justice I. Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The suspect has been charged with four counts of trespassing on a Nigerian offense, an offense which is an offense under penalty of perjury under Section 21 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act).
One of the figures reads: “That you, Li Lei Lei, on or about 17 May, 2022, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, in the area of jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, disturbed the Thousand Naira (N1,000) ) Note, by serial number 947882 issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria and in so doing committing a criminal offense under Section 21 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Establishment Act, Cap C4, Vol.1, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria , 2010. ”
