Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice have been sentenced, and the house of representatives has asked the British government and parliament to step in.
In condemning the legislator, the parliamentarians ask the UK court to "balance justice and pity."
The lawmakers also requested that the federal government use diplomacy to "intervene" in the lawmaker's trial.
Following the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Enugu lawmaker Toby Okechukwu, the resolution was approved during plenary session on Tuesday.
After the motion was approved, the legislators requested that the lower legislative chamber's clerk "convey" their resolutions to the British Embassy, UK government, and the parliament in writing.
On May 5, Ekweremadu will receive his punishment at the UK's Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey.
In March, a jury held the former deputy senate president and his wife responsible for the trafficking of organs.
The jury concluded that they planned to use a 21-year-old in London for the kidney trade.
However, the accusations against their daughter Sonia were dropped.
The London Metropolitan Police detained the Ekweremadus in June 2022.
They allegedly tried to persuade medical staff at the Royal Free Hospital in London to carry out a $80,000 transplant on the donor, who was introduced as Sonia's cousin.
The couple did apologize for saying the donor was a relative, though, throughout the trial.
The man and other potential contributors were viewed as "disposable assets - spare components for reward," according to the prosecutor, Hugh Davies, who testified in court. Ekweremadus and Obeta.
The UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015 was first applied to this judgment.
