Chris Brown, an American R&B singer, has said that when he is not performing his own songs, he listens to Nigerian afrobeats music.
In a recent episode of the Million Dollarz Worth Of Game podcast, the 'New Flame' singer revealed this.
He believes the genre deserves all of the international recognition it is receiving.
"If I'm not playing my music, I'm listening to Afrobeats," he explained. I appreciate how the genre is growing and all of the accolades.
"I've been listening to [afrobeats] for quite some time. On my album [Breezy], Wiz [Wizkid] and I recorded an afrobeats-style tune."
Chris Brown has collaborated with a wide range of Nigerian afrobeats artists, including Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Fireboy, and Lojay.
He was named Best International Act at the Headies Awards in Nigeria in 2022.
