Femi Adesina Praises Late President Buhari’s Integrity, Calls Him "Incorruptible"

Femi Adesina, former media adviser to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has hailed the late leader as "untainted by corruption," stating that no credible allegations of wrongdoing could be leveled against him. Adesina shared these thoughts in an interview after Buhari’s passing on Sunday in a London hospital.

Recalling their bond, Adesina said his relationship with Buhari went beyond professional ties, describing it as a mentorship and friendship. "I’m deeply saddened. Our connection was more like that of an elder guiding a younger friend," he remarked. He added that even after Buhari’s presidency, they stayed in touch, with Adesina visiting him periodically in Daura and later in Kaduna earlier this year.

Adesina strongly defended Buhari’s ethical record, saying, "He was beyond reproach—no one could truthfully link him to corruption." He stressed that Buhari’s legacy serves as an example for future leaders: "Even in a system plagued by graft, it’s possible to remain upright. That was the powerful lesson he left for Nigeria."
