Police Launch Manhunt for Woman Caught Giving Alcohol to Baby in Viral Video




Authorities in Nigeria have initiated a search for a woman captured in a widely circulated video allegedly feeding alcohol to an infant. The footage, shared by social media personality @ChuksEricE, shows the suspect opening a sachet of a drink believed to be Triple Action Bitter, consuming some, and then giving it to the baby.  


The Nigeria Police Force has condemned the act as both unlawful and harmful, stressing that administering alcohol to minors violates child protection laws and poses severe risks to their well-being. Investigators have urged the public to assist in locating the woman by providing tips via the contact number 09169967000.  


In an official statement, the police confirmed they are treating the matter with urgency, stating: "We are actively investigating this alarming video. Giving alcohol to a child is a criminal offense and a serious threat to their health. We appeal to @ChuksEricE and anyone with useful information to come forward immediately."


The incident has ignited fury online, with many condemning the woman’s actions. Some users speculated whether the video was fabricated for attention, while others, like @ibukun_tayo, remarked, "Certain individuals should never be permitted to raise children."


Authorities have reassured the public that safeguarding the child remains their primary focus as the investigation continues.
