The Rivers State Police Command has placed two top officials of Ahoada East Local Government Area on its wanted list for their alleged involvement in a violent attack on the council administrator, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor.
The suspects—Hector Ekakita, the council's Chief Security Officer, and Aloni Olodi, Chief of Staff—were accused of leading a mob of about 30 youths to invade Iheanachor’s office on June 20, 2025. Police spokesperson SP Grace Iringe-Koko stated that the assailants beat the administrator, stole sensitive documents and personal belongings, and forced him to sign a resignation letter at gunpoint. Iheanachor, who was appointed by the state’s Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, is currently hospitalized due to injuries from the assault.
Authorities have filed charges including criminal conspiracy, assault, attempted murder, and theft against the duo. After repeatedly ignoring police invitations and allegedly going into hiding, Rivers State Commissioner of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu officially declared them wanted.
SP Iringe-Koko called on the suspects to turn themselves in at the State Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, warning that anyone shielding them would face prosecution. The public was also urged to report any information on their whereabouts through official police channels.
The police reassured residents of their dedication to ensuring justice and maintaining law and order in Rivers State.
