SDP Clarifies Stance on Former Kaduna Governor Nasiru El-Rufai, Denies Any Affiliation

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has officially distanced itself from former Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai, stating that he is not a member of the party and has no authority to represent it. The party issued a statement today to address growing rumors about El-Rufai’s alleged connection to the SDP.

In the release, the SDP made it clear that El-Rufai has no ties to the party and urged the public to ignore any suggestions that he speaks or acts on its behalf.

“The SDP wishes to clarify that Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai is not a member of our party and has not been given any mandate to represent us,” the statement said. The party also advised members and the public to only trust official announcements from its verified leadership.

This move comes amid speculation about El-Rufai’s political moves ahead of future elections. The SDP’s statement aims to reinforce its independent identity and prevent any misconceptions about its membership.

Attempts to get a response from El-Rufai were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the SDP reaffirmed its focus on strengthening its internal unity and advancing its political objectives in preparation for upcoming electoral activities.
