The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that its presidential primary for the 2027 election will be open to all eligible members, despite widespread endorsements for President Bola Tinubu as the party's preferred candidate.
Suleiman Argungu, the party's National Organising Secretary, made this clarification during a press briefing at the APC national secretariat. He stated that while the party's National Working Committee (NWC), state governors, and zonal chapters have endorsed President Tinubu, the nomination process will not be closed to other aspirants.
Argungu explained that when the party releases its timetable for the election, any interested member will be free to purchase nomination forms and contest in the primary.
He emphasized that the endorsements for Tinubu reflect the party's wish, but will not prevent other candidates from seeking the nomination through the proper electoral process.
