Senate Clerk's Office Declares No Authority to Reverse Senator's Suspension

The Office of the Clerk to the National Assembly has stated it does not possess the constitutional power to reinate Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central), following her suspension by the Senate.

In a statement issued by the Director of Information, Bullah Audu Bi-Allah, the Clerk, Kamorudeen Ogunlana, clarified the administrative nature of his office. He emphasized that the Clerk's role is to implement the decisions of the Senate, not to review, reverse, or interpret them. The office described its function as strictly non-partisan and limited to providing procedural and administrative support to the legislative body.
