"I will Resign As FCT Minister if Amechi and His Wife are Not on The NDDC Forensic Report" - Wike

 FCT Minister Wike Challenges Release of NDDC Audit Report, Vows to Resign if Amaechi Isn’t Indicted

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has called on President Bola Tinubu to release the forensic audit report of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), claiming it implicates former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi and his wife.  

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike dismissed allegations of corruption leveled against him by Amaechi and instead accused Amaechi’s wife of receiving N4 billion monthly from the NDDC for training programs targeting Niger Delta women. He claimed this amounted to N48 billion annually.  

Wike insisted that the audit report, which he alleged was suppressed by former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami, would expose financial misconduct. He boldly stated that he would resign as FCT Minister if the report fails to indict Amaechi and his wife.  

“If what I am saying is not in that document, I will resign as Minister of the FCT. I don’t worship office,” Wike declared.  

Additionally, Wike questioned Amaechi’s academic credentials and disputed his claim of receiving a Rolls-Royce from a Senator, alleging instead that the luxury vehicle was gifted by a contractor handling projects in Rivers State.  

The minister urged President Tinubu to make the NDDC audit findings public, asserting that transparency would hold those involved accountable.  

“Mr. President should help Nigerians by releasing the forensic audit report,” Wike said. “The truth must come out.”
