Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice-presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has strongly criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the party as a "grand deception."
He asserted that individuals whose policies, in his view, damaged Nigeria between 2015 and 2023 cannot now simply switch to a new political platform and credibly claim to be a solution for the country's problems.
The comments are widely interpreted as a direct critique of prominent politicians who have recently defected to the ADC from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Baba-Ahmed's statement suggests that these figures are responsible for the nation's challenges and should not be trusted to fix them.
