FIFA Establishes Its First African Headquarters in Morocco

In a landmark move for African football, FIFA has inaugurated its first-ever regional headquarters on the continent in Rabat, Morocco.

The facility, officially opened on July 26, 2025, is situated at the Mohammed VI Football Complex and will provide hands-on technical and administrative support to football federations across Africa.

This strategic expansion comes as Morocco gears up to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal, reinforcing its growing influence in global football.

Beyond symbolism, the headquarters highlights Morocco’s commitment to advancing the sport’s development in Africa not just as a host nation, but as a key driver of football’s future on the continent.
