President Bola Tinubu has declared that Nigeria is "rising again," citing ongoing efforts by his administration to stabilise the nation's economy.
The President made the statement on Thursday during a meeting with the Nigerian community in Yokohama, Japan, held alongside the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9).
Addressing the audience, President Tinubu expressed his administration's resolve to change negative economic patterns and establish Nigeria as a prosperous nation for all its citizens. He pointed to signs of progress, including a stabilising economy and a reversal in medical tourism, as evidence of this new beginning.
While acknowledging the right of individuals to live abroad, the President passionately appealed for their contribution to national development. He emphasised the immense opportunities emerging within the country and stated that the nation's growth depends on the expertise and resources of its people, both at home and overseas.
Furthermore, President Tinubu urged Nigerians living abroad to always act as positive ambassadors for their country, noting that negative commentary does not support national progress. He concluded by reaffirming his government's commitment to fostering an environment where every citizen can succeed.
