Kim Kardashian has clarified why she and her mother, Kris Jenner, removed photographs of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from social media following Kris’s 70th birthday celebration last November.
Speaking on Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé In Wonder Land, Kim said the decision was purely respectful and not influenced by public criticism or external pressure. She explained that Kris and Meghan, who have been friends for several years, had initially received approval to share the images from the private party.
However, it was later realised that the event took place on Remembrance Day. According to Kim, the royal couple did not want to be seen publicly celebrating on a day set aside to honour fallen service members.
“They didn’t want to appear as though they were partying and dancing on such a significant day,” Kim said, noting that the photos were taken down as a mark of respect.
She added that although Prince Harry and Meghan had attended the Baby2Baby Gala earlier that evening, sharing images from a private celebration could have been considered inappropriate given the solemn nature of the occasion.
Kim described the public reaction as exaggerated, saying the situation was misinterpreted and unnecessarily turned into a controversy. She maintained that the decision to delete the photos was made in good faith and with sensitivity to the importance of Remembrance Day.
