Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has announced his intention to contest the 2027 general election as a presidential aspirant, dismissing any possibility of running as a vice-presidential candidate.
Obi made the declaration while speaking at a campaign rally for African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates ahead of the Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections, held at the Abuja Municipal Area Council. He explained that his presence at the event was part of a broader national political strategy.
In his address to supporters, Obi called on party members and residents to rally behind the ADC candidate, stressing that victories at the grassroots level would contribute significantly to advancing his wider national ambition.
