A new report indicates that the Venezuelan military, under President Nicolás Maduro, is prepared to initiate a protracted guerrilla conflict and widespread destabilization if faced with a U.S. ground invasion aimed at ousting the current government.
The report notes that while Venezuelan leadership recognizes its conventional forces are no match for the U.S. military, its strategy would avoid direct confrontation. Instead, plans reportedly involve a focus on asymmetrical warfare and a campaign of "anarchization" designed to create chaos and prevent the United States from swiftly establishing a new administration.
These alleged preparations are unfolding against a backdrop of heightened regional tensions, underscored by a significant U.S. naval deployment to the Caribbean. This deployment includes more than ten warships, spearheaded by the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, and a supporting Marine Expeditionary Unit.
